Visitors at the San Diego Zoo are getting a first look at a pair of Sumatran tiger cubs.

The male cubs were born March 6. They've been left alone in a den with their mother until this week when zookeepers began playing with them. They hope to get them accustomed to human contact for when they need veterinary care.

Sumatran tigers are critically endangered, with just 400 left in the wild. In the past 40 years, 25 have been born at the San Diego Zoo.
