Faculty at California State University campuses across the state began voting Monday on an authorization to strike.

Members of the California Faculty Association have held previous protests, saying they're not getting negotiated pay raises. Cal State officials have said they need to make up for a budget shortfall due to state cuts.

However last month, the board voted to give raises to two new campus presidents.

The strike authorization vote will continue until April 27.
