California Science Center building home for Endeavour

LOS ANGELES

They're not the only ones getting an orbiter. The Space Shuttle Endeavour completed its last mission in June and it's slated to retire to the California Science Center in Exposition Park.

"There are tens of thousands of people here who actually worked on the program to create the shuttle," said Jeff Rudolph, CEO of the California Science Center.

Endeavour will be flown into LAX in September or October and then transported to a temporary pavilion at the Science Center. It will eventually be the centerpiece to a new space center expected to be built in the next five years.
