Ventura shooting, hit-and-run: man arrested

VENTURA, Calif.

Authorities said they received multiple calls Saturday night about shots being fired on the 1500 block of South Saticoy Street. When officials arrived at the scene, they found shell casings and several cars involved in a hit-and-run crash. It was not immediately known if there were any injuries.

An investigation led to the arrest of Santiago Gomez. He was booked for negligently discharging of a firearm, conspiracy to commit a felony, multiple counts of hit-and-run and commission of a gang-related crime.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information was asked to contact the Ventura Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
