Dick Clark had prostate surgery the day before he died last week, according to his death certificate.

The certificate was released Monday by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

The 82-year-old entertainer died Wednesday at a Santa Monica hospital.

The cause of death was acute myocardial infarction, a heart attack. The certificate also listed enlargement of the prostate and acute urinary retention as contributing factors.
