Cured fish recalled for possible contamination

April 26, 2012 12:00:00 AM PDT
A Los Angeles seafood company is voluntarily recalling a popular fish because it may be contaminated.

LA Star Seafood said it is recalling 20-pound bulk boxes of smoked and dry vobla fish. The salt-cured fish could have bacteria that can cause botulism, which is potentially life-threatening.

Customers who purchased the fish between Feb. 28 and April 23 are urged to destroy or return it. There have not been any reports of illnesses.
