Man shot to death on San Bernardino porch

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.

Authorities responded to a report of a car-to-car shooting in the 700 block of North San Anselmo Avenue at about 6 a.m. The man was declared dead at the scene.

"You could actually hear three of four shots, but like I said, I didn't come outside," said Lula Zemault of San Bernardino.

Investigators say the victim did not live at the location, but his vehicle, a gold older-model Mercedes-Benz, was at the scene with an evidence marker on top of it.

Police say they are looking for a 1990s white- or cream-colored luxury sedan that was seen fleeing the crime scene, but police are unsure if the shots came from that vehicle, or if it was a getaway car.

The victim's name has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The motive for the shooting has not been determined. Police say it is possible that the incident was drug related.

Anyone with information is urged to call the San Bernardino Police Department at (909) 384-5656.
