Loma Linda hospital bomb scare: man arrested

LOMA LINDA, Calif.

Authorities say Nick Huerta was released from the hospital on Friday at 11 a.m. and taken into custody by detectives. He was transported to the West Valley Detention Center and booked for a false bomb threat.

Huerta walked into the emergency room and told a nurse he had a bomb strapped on him on Thursday morning. The bomb squad responded and moved him to a concrete parking structure.

Investigators say the device had no explosives.

The west side of the medical center, including the emergency room lobby, was evacuated during the investigation, and all new emergency patients were diverted to other area hospitals.
