The suspect, Michael B. Franks, 29, will remain in custody throughout the weekend and is expected to be charged next week.
The FBI says all the media coverage and the numerous bank surveillance photos were instrumental in developing leads in this investigation.
The "Snowboarder Bandit" has robbed 10 Orange County banks since September. He is also suspected of robbing a bank in Palm Springs. His name comes from the ski-type attire he wore in the robberies.
