Authorities said the man barged into the Studio 7 Beauty Salon on the 5000 block of Los Angeles Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday. He demanded money from an employee and three customers. They all cooperated and gave the suspect money and personal checks. The suspect took the items and fled on foot into the neighborhood northeast of the business.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
Simi Valley police officers responded and set up a perimeter and conducted a search, but the suspect was not located.
Police described the suspect as a white or Hispanic male in his early 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
