Body of missing Orange County woman found; sons still missing

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif.

Detectives said county workers found a body that appeared to have stab wounds in the 600 block of Alderton Avenue in La Puente on April 25. The body was positively identified as Arlet Hernandez Contreras on Friday.

"It was positively confirmed that the female body is our adult victim," said Orange Police Sgt. Dan Adams.

Orange police have arrested Shazer Fernando Limas, 31, in the deaths of his girlfriend and the couple's two young boys. Limas led police on a pursuit from Santa Ana to Camp Pendleton on Thursday after they tried to question him about the disappearance of Hernandez and the boys.

Detectives said they found blood on the carpet of Limas' apartment. The evidence, they said, indicated that the victims were killed about three weeks ago and the bodies were dumped elsewhere.

"We have spoken to him, he has been cooperative with our investigators, but we still do not have any information or any leads where the children might be," Adams said.

One boy is 2 years old and the other is 4 months.

Limas has been booked for murder.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Orange police at (714) 744-7456.

An earlier version of the story stated the victim's body was found in the city of Industry. That location has been changed to La Puente following updated information from Orange police.
