Fans of the drama can download an app called "IntoNow," which links them up in real-time and also taps into the Twitter feeds of the actors and producers. Users can also access related videos and information on "Revenge," including the actors and plot, and test their knowledge of the series through trivia questions.
As an added bonus, users who download the IntoNow app and tag "Revenge" during the May 16 and 23 shows will be entered into a drawing to win a free week-long getaway to New York's Hamptons beach area, where the drama's story is based.
The app, which was named Best Smartphone App by Time Magazine in 2011, is meant to engage the growing number of people who use their smartphones and tablets while watching TV. It can identify what show a viewer is watching and immediately spot Facebook friends who are doing the same thing, explained Adam Cahan, vice president of IntoNow.
The technology is also aimed at boosting ratings by encouraging viewers to watch when shows actually air on TV instead of using digital video recorders.
Catch this season's final two episodes of "Revenge" the next two Wednesdays, May 16 and 23, at 10 p.m. PT on ABC7.
