Compton traffic stop ends with deputy-involved shooting

A deputy-involved shooting in Compton on Sunday night left a man injured. Authorities say the incident began as a traffic stop.

It remains unclear why the deputy opened fire on Oleander Avenue and Glencoe Street at about 9 p.m. The suspect was hospitalized in unknown condition.

Deputies say a weapon was recovered at the scene.

A second suspect was also taken into custody. No deputies were injured in the incident.
