Earth seen in new colors via Russian satellite

LOS ANGELES

The time-lapsed shots come from a Russian satellite more than 22,000 miles away.

The colors are much different than the blue earth we're used to seeing. The satellite combined visible and infrared wavelengths of light. The infrared also made plants appear rusty brown instead of green.

Hundreds of thousands of people have already viewed the video on YouTube.
