Clerk robbed on first day on job, quits

May 15, 2012 12:00:00 AM PDT
A Stanton convenience store clerk was held up by an armed robber on his first day on the job and it was caught on tape.

Surveillance video shows the robbery suspect pulling out a semi-automatic gun and telling the clerk to put all the money from the cash register into a bag.

The robbery took place Monday night at a Shell gas station on the 8900 block of Katella Avenue.

Orange County Sheriff's deputies believe the suspect could be part of a ring linked to a series of recent service station robberies.

The clerk was working his first day on the job. He quit right after being held up.
