Orange County prosecutors say Santiago Carrasco spent two decades living in the U.S. under the assumed name of Lucio Rodriguez.
He went to Mexico in 2004 and bribed authorities there to obtain a fake death certificate for the alias. He then returned to the U.S. and lived under his real name.
Carrasco, and his wife, Rosa, were each sentenced to two years in custody, two years of mandatory supervision upon release, and ordered to pay more than $413,000 in restitution.
