Verizon is clarifying its policy on what will happen once it introduces shared data plans.

Customers with unlimited plans will get to keep them. But when the shared data plans become available, the unlimited option will no longer be available to customers purchasing phones at a discounted price.

Customers buying handsets at full retail price and are on an unlimited plan, however, will get to keep that plan.

The clarification comes after reports that Verizon planned to kill unlimited data plans when shared data plans were introduced.
