The school board confirmed Wednesday it will pay former employee Scot Graham a settlement of $200,000, plus lifetime health benefits. Graham alleged that Cortines, 79, made unwanted advances at him during a July 2010 encounter at a Kern County ranch owned by Cortines.
Cortines, who retired from the LAUSD in 2011, maintains the encounter was consensual and that no harassment occurred.
As part of the settlement, Graham will leave his $150,000-a-year job as a senior employee in the facilities division of the school system.
