Camarillo sex assault suspect poses as security officer

CAMARILLO, Calif.

The suspect has reportedly targeted two women just in the last week at the Carmen Plaza Shopping Center. In both incidents, the suspect followed the women out of the store and grabbed their buttocks.

In one incident, the man followed his victim to her car and detained the female victim, telling her he was a store loss prevention officer and that he needed to "search" her for stolen property. When the woman complied, the man grabbed the woman's buttocks and took off.

Police want to remind the public that a true store security officer will have identification on-hand that must be presented upon request.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 18 to 25 years old with short brown hair, standing between 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
