The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a convicted violent felon and gang member who cut off his GPS ankle bracelet and walked away during a court hearing.

Perry Pemberton is charged with six burglaries in several cities across Southern California, including Sherman Oaks, Woodland Hills, Valencia, Burbank and Bel Air. He is also a registered sex offender.

Pemberton, who uses the moniker "KP Money," was arrested October 2011 for the burglaries. After his arrest, he was held on $1.1 million bail. But that was later reduced to $500,000. Pemberton posted bail and another GPS tracker was placed on his ankle. He was driving a 2006 blue Maserati with the license plate 6PIX577.

Police said Pemberton cut off the device during a recess break at his preliminary hearing on May 25.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to contact authorities at (877) LAPD-24-7.
