The crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Nordhoff Street and Tobias Avenue. A driver allegedly driving under the influence slammed his car into another vehicle, which was carrying the baby and another person.
The baby and the other person were taken to the hospital to be checked out. Officials said the baby was examined at the hospital and released. The other person in the car was not injured.
Authorities said the suspect driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Two passengers in the suspect's vehicle ran away and are being sought for questioning.
The identities of those involved were not immediately released.
