Diabetes risk lowered by eating breakfast - report

LOS ANGELES

The study supports the theory that eating a balanced breakfast helps people's overall health. Researchers at the University of Minnesota tracked 5,000 men and women for several years.

None of the participants had Type 2 diabetes when the study started. Eighteen years later, the people who ate breakfast every day were less likely to have Type 2 diabetes, less likely to be obese and less likely to simply have belly fat.
