Irvine couple accused of child trafficking while adopting kids in Ghana

IRVINE, Calif.

Sol and Christine Moghadam are adopting four siblings from Ghana, but they were arrested there and accused of child trafficking.

The Moghadams and their two biological sons went to Ghana to pick up their new siblings. But an anonymous phone call accusing the Moghadams of child trafficking prompted police to arrest both parents and put all the children into an orphanage.

The whole family, all eight of them, has since been reunited, and they now have their passports back. They said police apologized.

The family is still in Ghana, waiting for visas for the adopted children to clear.
