The brush fire was reported at about 12:45 p.m. at Cary and Tripp Flats roads in Anza. Riverside County firefighters were on the scene.
No injuries were reported. No evacuations were ordered. A building reportedly caught fire, which spread to surrounding vegetation.
The fire was 60 percent contained at 10 p.m. Friday, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. Full containment was expected by Saturday at 6 a.m.
Four helicopters and 25 fire engines were dispatched to battle flames amid wind gusts and temperatures over 90 degrees.
