Palmdale brush fire out; over 200 acres charred

PALMDALE, Calif.

About 250 firefighters, along with three water-dropping helicopters and four bulldozers, battled the fire before bringing it under control.

The blaze was reported around 9 p.m. Tuesday. Crews remained at the scene Wednesday morning to look for hot spots.

Some ranch homes were threatened, but in the end, no structures were damaged and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
