Plane has engine trouble while over Atlantic

WASHINGTON

United Airlines' Boeing 757 took off from Washington Dulles International Airport on Sunday night for London's Heathrow Airport. But halfway across the Atlantic, the pilot realized there was a problem with one of the engines.

He descended from about 40,000 feet to 20,000 feet before making an emergency landing in Newfoundland, Canada.

None of the 50 passengers onboard the plane were hurt.
