'Death warrant' homeless stabbings suspect arrested in Hollywood

LOS ANGELES

Police arrested the suspect, 37-year-old Courtney Robinson, in Hollywood.

Surveillance video shows him at a Hong Kong Express at Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue where investigators said he called 911 to turn himself in. The restaurant's owner said he had no idea he was serving a wanted man.

Police said Robinson attacked a man in downtown Los Angeles, stabbed another man at a bus stop in Santa Monica and stabbed a woman in Hollywood, all while they slept. At each of the crime scenes, police said Robinson left behind death warrants signed David Ben Keyes, his alias.

"The suspect targeted the victims for a specific reason," said Los Angeles Police Cmdr. Andrew Smith. "We don't believe he was related to them or familiar with them."

Investigators said he may also be connected to two stabbings of homeless men in Santa Barbara.

Robinson was being held on $500,000 bail.
