One of the victims also gave birth to a healthy baby boy after she was critically wounded in the movie theater shooting.
Hugo Jackson Medley was born at 7:11 a.m. MT Tuesday at University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora. The baby's father, 23-year-old Caleb Medley, was also shot while in the theater. Family and friends say Caleb Medley has been improving after being in a medically-induced coma. He is staying one floor below where his wife and baby are.

Later in the day, actor Christian Bale, who plays Batman in "The Dark Knight Rises,"' met with victims at the Medical Center of Aurora.
After visiting the them, Bale, accompanied by his wife, stopped by a makeshift memorial to the victims near the movie theater. He walked among the dozen crosses raised for each of the victims who died. It appeared that many people there didn't realize who he was or chose to leave him alone.
An online campaign had urged Bale to visit survivors of the shooting that took place during a midnight showing of the latest Batman film. Along with the 12 who were killed, 58 others were injured.
Questions are lingering about the mental state of James Holmes one day after his first appearance in court.
Holmes was taken to court in handcuffs Monday. He denied bond, did not speak to the judge or make eye contact with any of the victims present. He sat silently with a dazed look, and at one point even closed his eyes. While some wondered if he was drugged, sources tell ABC News he wasn't drugged and that he's been acting strange since his arrest. Holmes, 24, is accused of carrying out the shooting.

Some victims and family members of those killed attended the hearing, saying they needed to see Holmes in-person. Others made it a point to stay away.
"I don't want to look in the eyes of the man who took away my sister and 11 other lives," said Jordan Ghawi, brother of shooting victim /*Jessica Ghawi.*/

Holmes won't be formally charged until Monday. Until then, he is being held in solitary confinement without bond.
Prosecutors say they are considering asking for the death penalty, but plan to consult with family members of the victims before making that decision. Prosecutors stopped short of calling this a slam dunk case.
The legal process involving Holmes is expected to take quite some time, investigators say. It could be more than a year before the case goes to trial.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros., which released "The Dark Knight Rises," has donated an undisclosed amount of money to the GivingFirst.org fund, which will go to help victims and their families. The fund has raised nearly $2 million.
Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood will host a public candlelight vigil Tuesday night for the victims and survivors of the shooting. A donation box for the victims fund will also be available.
The event starts at 8:30 p.m. and the lights on the theatre façade will go dark at 9:00 p.m. as a gesture of solidarity.
