Trader Joe's BBQ Chicken Salads recalled due to listeria

LOS ANGELES

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Huxtable's Kitchen of Vernon is recalling about 5,610 pounds of prepared barbecue chicken salads.

The salads were sold in 14.5-ounce packages with a use-by date of July 16 through July 30. They're marked with the number "P11079."

They were distributed in Arizona, New Mexico, Southern California, Southern Nevada and Texas. No illnesses have been reported from the salads.

The bacteria can cause a flu-like illness, a symptom of a serious infection that typically affects older adults, pregnant women and those with weak immune systems.

The illness can result in death.
