A common spice could decrease the likelihood of a diabetes diagnosis, according to a study in Diabetes Care.

Scientists found that over nine months, a daily dose of curry extract appeared to prevent new cases of diabetes. Scientists believe the curry supplement somehow improves the way pancreas cells release insulin.

Curry can be found in Indian and Thai food.

While the findings are promising, experts want to continue researching for confirmation.
