Transient arrested for Ventura arson fires, possession of stolen property

VENTURA, Calif.

A witness provided investigators with a description of a man who started the fires at 1220 E. Thompson Blvd., according to Ventura Police.

Patrick Mcinenly, a 36-year-old Ventura transient, was located near Front and Kalorama streets. Investigators determined Mcinenly had intentionally set the fires. Police also found Mcinenly was in possession of stolen personal property.

Mcinenly was booked at Ventura County Jail for arson and possession of stolen property.

The fires burned in two homeless encampments, two trash bins and there were two vegetation fires.
