"I'm lucky to be here right now and not in the bottom of the ocean," said one of the boys, Jack Olinger.
They were rescued by the brave efforts of a Good Samaritan. Nick Tumilowicz, a former lifeguard, swam a mile out to the boys in 55-degree water.
With the boat slowly going under, the man grabbed the boys by their life vests and with the other arm, side-stroked to shore. The boys call Tumilowicz their hero.
The trio made it to a pier where a Coast Guard cutter picked them up. Everyone is doing OK.
