Vin Scully to return to Dodgers' booth next season

LOS ANGELES

The 84-year-old has been adding his commentary to the games for more than half a century.

Scully missed the team's home opener this season for his second time in 63 years due to an undisclosed illness.

Scully said Sunday that the team's new ownership has "revitalized the city, the team, the fans and myself."

Scully began his professional baseball broadcasting career in 1950 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He has called three perfect games, 25 no-hitters, 25 World Series and 12 All-Star games.
