United Airlines to introduce slimmer seats

United Airlines will be introducing slimmer seats on some of its airplanes in 2013.

The next time you fly, there might be less space on the plane. United Airlines is introducing slimmer seats.

The airline plans on retrofitting more than 150 planes. The seats will shrink from 18 inches to 17, but the leg room won't be affected. The move will allow for six extra seats in the cabin.

Passengers can expect to see the new seats starting next year. Other major airlines plan similar changes.
