Los Angeles police released surveillance video of the incident, which took place at a Ralphs supermarket on Sept. 2. The suspect stole the purse, then smirked at the woman, who fell twice while trying to chase her down.
Police say the victim made so much noise that the suspect ditched the purse in the next aisle.
LAPD officials said 22-year-old Nicole Mirabile was taken into custody on Wednesday for the incident.
