Cool Kid strives to instill confidence through community service

POMONA, Calif.

Jaelin Milner is heavily involved with the Young Legends, the youth section of the National Council of Negro Women.

"We do a lot more in addition to what I do. We do a lot more community service, mostly helping homeless," says Jaelin.

Jaelin helps with food and clothing, but also wants to give people hope and self-confidence.

"I just feel really bad for them, the situations they are in," says Jaelin. "And I just want them to know that somebody cares and make them feel better about themselves."

Jaelin sees an opportunity to truly affect the future of someone in need.

"You can have an impact on their life, you can change the way that they view things and help them to be a better person," says Jaelin.

Jaelin is a 17-year-old senior at Diamond Bar High School. But she is more than the typical teenager.

"I like hanging out with my friends but, I feel like other people might need more things so, I think that's the higher priority," says Jaelin.

Jaelin Milner is a young lady who wants to make life better for people who are going through hard times. That makes her our Cool Kid.
