Officers responded to the incident near North Bank Drive and Matthews Avenue where a man was seen firing a shotgun into the air. After firing one round, the man ran away.
Officers later found a loaded shotgun in some bushes along a walking trail on the south end of North Bank Drive.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The suspect was seen wearing a black hat and dark clothing. Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident should call the Ventura Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
