Wrongly accused man gets shot at pro-football dream after being exonerated in rape case

LONG BEACH, Calif.

Brian Banks, 26, is reportedly being offered a spot with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League.

After his exoneration in May, the former Long Beach Polytechnic High School football star tried out for three National Football League teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Seattle Seahawks, but didn't make the cut.

Banks, however, is expected to sign a contract with the Vegas United Football League franchise Wednesday for their season which begins next week.

The linebacker made headlines earlier this year when he was exonerated of his rape conviction after his accuser admitted that she had lied about the claim.
