6.2 magnitude quake shakes Baja California

A magnitude-6.2 earthquake shook the southern part of Mexico's Baja California peninsula on Tuesday. There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries.The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered about 47 miles (75 kilometers) north-northeast of the city of La Paz, Baja California Sur. The USGS said the quake occurred at about 4:45 p.m. local time and was centered offshore in the Gulf of California. A 4.6-magnitude aftershock struck about 20 minutes later.

A receptionist at CostaBaja Resort and Spa in La Paz said the quake was felt but it didn't seem to last long in their area.
