2 Lenscrafters stores burglarized in OC

Three suspects have been taken into custody after two LensCrafters stores in Orange County were burglarized on Wednesday.

The first burglary happened at about 1:30 a.m. on the 13000 block of Jamboree Road in Irvine. The burglars smashed through the store's glass façade, and stole hundreds of glasses and sunglasses, including at least 400 high-end Maui Jim models.

The manager estimates the loss as being in the thousands.

The second burglary was at about 2 a.m. on the 1000 block of East Imperial Highway in Brea. A police officer noticed a black Volkswagen Jetta speeding from the scene and chased after it. The short pursuit went north on the Orange (57) Freeway until the suspects stopped in Diamond Bar, where they were taken into custody.

It was unclear if if the stolen merchandise had been recovered. The suspects were booked on suspicion of burglary and felony evading.
