Mexican drug lord's body stolen from funeral home

MEXICO CITY

Heriberto Lazcano and another man were fatally shot in a gunfight with marines on Sunday outside a baseball game in Progreso. Coahuila Attorney General Homero Ramos said the bodies of both men had been raided from the funeral home early Monday morning.

Lazcano was the head of the Zetas drug cartel and was one of the most feared drug lords in the country. His experience as an army special forces deserter gave him the brutal paramilitary tactics that defined the six-year war between Mexican cartels and authorities, Ramos said.
