Oscars 2013: Record 71 foreign-language submissions

The entries include first-time entrant Kenya, which submitted "Nairobi Half Life" by director David "Tosh" Gitonga.

Other entries include Austria's "Amour" from director Michael Haneke, which won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival in the spring, the French hit "The Intouchables," from directors Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, and Sweden's "The Hypnotist" by Lasse Hallstrom, who also directed "The Cider House Rules."

Nominations for the 85th Academy Awards will be announced live on Jan. 10, 2013, at 5:30 a.m. PT.

The 2013 Oscar ceremony, hosted by Seth MacFarlane, will air live on ABC7 on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013. It will be MacFarlane's first appearance on the Oscar stage.
