The product involved in the recall is the Graco Classic Wood Highchair.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the seat can loosen or detach from the base, posing a fall hazard. There have been 58 reports of seats detaching and nine reports of children falling, resulting in bumps, bruises and scratches. The Georgia-based company has also received one report of a concussion in Canada.
The product comes in three wood finishes, but all Graco Classic Wood Highchairs come with a beige fabric seat cover. The recalled items have the following model numbers on the underside of the seat: 3C00BPN, 3C00BPN TC, 3C00CHY, 3C00CHY TC, 3C00CPO or 3C00CPO TC.
The products, which were made in China, were sold at Babies R Us, Burlington Coat Factory, Target.com and Walmart.com and other online retailers between September 2007 and December 2010 for about $130.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled highchairs and contact Graco for a free repair kit. You can call Graco at (800) 345-4109 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit the firm's website at www.gracobaby.com.
