Graco highchairs recalled from fall hazard

The product involved in the recall is the Graco Classic Wood Highchair.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the seat can loosen or detach from the base, posing a fall hazard. There have been 58 reports of seats detaching and nine reports of children falling, resulting in bumps, bruises and scratches. The Georgia-based company has also received one report of a concussion in Canada.

The product comes in three wood finishes, but all Graco Classic Wood Highchairs come with a beige fabric seat cover. The recalled items have the following model numbers on the underside of the seat: 3C00BPN, 3C00BPN TC, 3C00CHY, 3C00CHY TC, 3C00CPO or 3C00CPO TC.

The products, which were made in China, were sold at Babies R Us, Burlington Coat Factory, and and other online retailers between September 2007 and December 2010 for about $130.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled highchairs and contact Graco for a free repair kit. You can call Graco at (800) 345-4109 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit the firm's website at
