Brad Sherman maintains lead for District 30 race against Howard Berman

LOS ANGELES

Our exclusive Eyewitness News poll conducted by Survey USA currently shows Sherman with 44 percent of the vote, Howard Berman with 33 percent and 22 percent remain undecided.

The two Democrats are facing each other because of redistricting that created California's 30th Congressional District. Berman has been in Congress 30 years, while Sherman has been there 16 years.

Berman and Sherman made national headlines earlier this month when their brewing competition escalated into a confrontation at a recent debate at Pierce College.

The incident got physical when Sherman seized Berman by the shoulder and the two were briefly nose-to-nose. Sherman refused to call the incident a confrontation but did admit he shouldn't have put his arm on the congressman. Berman, however, said Sherman unhinged and snapped during the debate.
