Felix Baumgartner returns home to Austria

SALZBURG, Austra

The skydiver returned home Saturday, two weeks after landing safely in a southeastern New Mexico desert following his 24-mile jump from the edge of space.

The daredevil was greeted by reporters in his home city of Salzburg. He's known around the world as the first person to reach supersonic speed without traveling in an aircraft.

Baumgartner says preparing to jump was a "very, very overwhelming" experience."

He added that his success was the result of years of planning.
