Jodie Foster to get Cecil B. DeMille Award at Golden Globes

LOS ANGELES

The announcement was made Thursday at the Beverly Hills Hotel with actress Kristen Stewart and actor Simon Baker doing the honors.

The DeMille Award celebrates Foster and her impact on entertainment. Winners are chosen by the board of directors for the foreign press group. It includes about 90 reporters who cover Hollywood for overseas outlets.

Foster won the Academy Award for her roles in "The Accused" and "Silence of the Lambs." She is also a producer and director. The actress has appeared in more than 40 films, beginning her career at just 3 years old in a Coppertone commercial.

Foster will receive her award at the 70th Golden Globe Awards Jan. 13, 2013. The DeMille Award went to Morgan Freeman earlier this year. Past winners include Robert De Niro, Steven Spielberg, Barbra Streisand, Jack Nicholson and Clint Eastwood.
