The incident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday as the 25-year-old victim was crossing the street inside of a marked crosswalk on Wilshire Boulevard at Spaulding Avenue.
Police said a man driving a dark BMW with no plates or possible European plates took off after the crash. The victim was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
The suspect was described as a man in his 30s with dark hair and dark eyes. Anyone with information was asked to call police at (877) LAPD-24-7.
