Police arrested 20-year-old Jonathan Dixon of Missouri around 12:26 p.m. in the 13300 block of Laurelhurst Road after an alert resident reported the suspicious theft.
According to Moorpark patrol deputies, Dixon had been selling cleaning products door-to-door when he stole mail near the front door of a home. During the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect was soliciting without the proper city permit. Dixon was arrested for theft at the East County Jail.
Moorpark police would like to remind residents to be careful when dealing with door-to-door solicitors.
