Video shows toddler's close call after car crashes through store

November 27, 2012 12:00:00 AM PST
Dramatic footage of a car smashing through a jewelry store and barely missing a toddler in Georgia was caught by a surveillance camera.

The video shows the 16-month-old boy running into his dad's office. Then, within minutes, a driver plowed through the jewlery store's front windows, stopping in the exact spot where the boy had been just moments earlier.

Caleb Harkleroad, 21, says his baby brother is lucky to be alive.

"The last thing I saw was my baby brother walking across the store and then 30 seconds after that, the car crashed through the store," said Harkleroad.

Amazingly, the toddler was not hurt.

Police say the 84-year-old driver accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake when she was parking her car.
