2 LA Coliseum employees charged with embezzling

EXPOSITION PARK, LOS ANGELES

Former warehouse worker Ulises Luna and payroll clerk Maria De La Torre each face up to three years in jail if convicted.

Luna was laid off last year, but allegedly conspired with De La Torre to continue having checks processed in his name in exchange for splitting the money with De La Torre, who has since resigned.

The Coliseum has been surrounded with scandal recently.

Earlier this year, former general manager Patrick Lynch and five others were indicted on corruption charges after they were accused of diverting money from rave concerts that should have gone to the Coliseum. Lynch and former Events Manager Todd Stefano allegedly defrauded the venue of more than $1 million in taxpayer money.
